Everybody, please meet RUSTY!!

This absolutely adorable, social boy came all the way from the island of Aruba and is now ready to find his forever home in the United States!

Rusty is about 6 months old and 25 pounds, and this boy truly loves everyone he meets. People, dogs — Rusty loves them all! He’s affectionate, playful, social, and just an all-around amazing puppy.

Rusty is crate trained, potty trained, great with other dogs, and wonderful with people. He hasn’t been cat tested, but based on his age and temperament, we think he has great potential to do just fine with a cat after a proper introduction. He would also do well with older kids. He hasn’t lived with toddlers, so we can’t speak from experience there, but he has shown us nothing but a sweet, social personality.

Rusty and his siblings were surrendered to Luna Foundation of Aruba as very young puppies because their owners could no longer care for them. They came to us in extremely poor condition, but with lots of love, care, and time, they have absolutely thrived. Just look at this beautiful boy now!

And here’s probably one of the best things we can tell you about Rusty: his foster family is completely head-over-heels in love with him. They would absolutely love to adopt him themselves.

But their own dog is only about a year and a half old, and as much as their hearts would love to keep Rusty, we believe having two dogs so close in age isn’t the best choice for their long-term success.

We know that can feel heartbreaking in the moment, but rescue isn’t just about looking at today. We’re looking 10 years down the road and trying to make the decisions that give each of these dogs the very best chance at a happy, stable, successful life.

And Rusty deserves exactly that.
